The Hyundai Motors India today revealed the mileage figures of the new Grand i10 Nios BS 6 Diesel engine. Grand i10 Nios is one of the few top selling hatchbacks in its segment that offers BS6 petrol as well as diesel engine. The 1.2-litre diesel engine mated with the 5 -speed manual transmission delivers an ARAI-rated mileage of 25.1 kmpl.
Hyundai offers the Grand i10 with the same 1.2-litre CRDi engine as before, albeit in BS6 avatar. Hyundai converted the 1.2-litre CRDi engine from BS4 to BS6 by inclusion of exhaust after-treatment systems like an LNT (Lean NOx Trap) and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) has allowed the automaker to meet the tighter emissions regulations, which resulted a drop in fuel efficiency by 1.1 kmpl. The BS6 Hyundai Grand i10 Diesel engine churns out 75 hp and 190 Nm of peak torque.
The new BS6 Hyundai Grand i10 diesel variant is priced at Rs 6.75 lakh (ex-showroom, PAN India). Grand i10 Nios competes with the likes of Ford Freestyle, Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
