    Toyota Hilux booking open, deliveries to begin by April 2022

    Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), today, officially unveiled the iconic Hilux pickup truck in the Indian market. The Toyota Hilux will be available in two variants – Low and High. The Hilux is based on the same platform (body-on frame chassis construction) that underpins the Innova Crysta and Fortuner.

    The Toyota Hilux can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 1 lakh. Ex-showroom prices will be announced in March 2022. Deliveries will commence in April 2022. Customers can either book the car online (www.toyotabharat.com) or visit their nearest Toyota dealership.

    Toyota Hilux exteriors

    Toyota Hilux will be offered in India in a double-cab body style. Hilux measures 5,325mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,815mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,085mm. Hilux sports a bold piano black trapezoidal with thick chrome surrounds similar to the new Innova Crysta in India.

    The Hilux also has some resemblance to the Fortuner in its basic profile, but it gets a completely unique face with the chrome surrounded engine hood, front bumper, lower guard, and bumper corners. The side profile is dominated by the black plastic cladding over the wheel arches, which adds a rugged appeal. The Hilux rides on 18-inch super chrome alloy wheels, similar to the Fortuner in India.

    The Hilux will be available in five colours – Emotional Red, Gray Metallic, White Pearl CS, Silver Metallic and Super White.

    The new Toyota Hilux sports an interior similar to the new Fortuner. While the dashboard layout is slightly different from the Fortuner, things like the 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay ,Smart Entry with Engine Push Start/Stop button, Dual Zone Fully Automatic AC, Cruise Control, Premium Leather Seats, Front Centre Sliding Armrest with Storage, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel, Upper Cooled Glove Box and Eight-way Powered Front Seat (Driver) seems to be carried over from the Fortuner.

    Toyota Hilux engine

    The Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with spec similar to the Fortuner. Automatic Transmission variant provides segment-leading power of 204 hp and torque output of 500 Nm. While, Manual Transmission variants generates 204 hp and 420 Nm of torque. All variants come with a 4X4 drivetrain enabling customers to engage in smooth off-roading The Hilux gets two drive modes (Eco and Power). The Hilux’s flatbed deck is capable to carry a payload of 435 kg.

    In terms of off-roading capabilities, Hilux has a water wading capacity of 700mm, approach angle of 29 degrees and a departure angle of 26 degrees. Also gets a low-range gearbox, front and rear electronic differential locks.

    The new Toyota Hilux is equipped with ABS, EBD, Brake Assist System, Hill-Start Assist Control, reverse camera, clearance sonar, back up sonar, seven airbags, Automatic Limited Slip Differential, Trailer Sway Control, Emergency Brake Signal, Cruise Control, tyre angle monitor, Shift Switch Sequential & Shift Lock System, Electrochromic IRVM, ISOFIX Child Seat Restraint System, Anti-Pinch Driver Side Power Window Downhill Assist Control and Vehicle Stability Control. As a result of high-levels of in-built safety features, Toyota Hilux was awarded a 5-Star Crash Safety Rating by New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP).

    Toyota Hilux Price

    The Toyota Hilux is expected to be priced between Rs 35-45 lakh (ex-showroom). Toyota is offering a standard warranty of three years or 1 lakh km on the Hilux, similar to almost every other Toyota product on sale in India. Buyers can also opt for the extended warranty scheme that go up to five years/2.2 lakh km. Hilux will compete with likes of Isuzu D-Max V-Cross which is priced between Rs 22.07 lakh-25.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
