    BYD India appoints Sanjay Gopalakrishnan as Senior VP for its Electric Passenger Vehicle Business

    BYD India, a subsidiary of the Warren Buffett-backed world’s leading new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD appoints Mr. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, as Senior Vice President, BYD India Private Limited for its electric passenger vehicle business in India. Mr. Sanjay will be spearheading the Sales, Marketing, and After-sales divisions.

    Mr. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan will be responsible for enhancing BYD India’s position in the electric passenger vehicle segment. Mr. Sanjay comes with an overall experience of 25 years in the auto industry. In his earlier stints, Mr. Sanjay was associated with brands such as Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to name a few. In his previous assignment, Mr. Sanjay was the Country expert for Changan Automobiles, which was planning to enter the Indian Market.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ketsu Jie Zhang, Executive Director, BYD India Private Limited, said, “With Sanjay, we are confident that we have found the right leader to continue with our growth plans for India and further accelerate our electric passenger vehicle business in the market. He brings a deep understanding of the Indian electric vehicles movement with leadership stints in Marketing, Product & Strategy across automobile companies.”

    As a strategic and marketing expert with experience in Planning, Brand Management, Product, Media analytics, PR & Digital marketing, Mr. Sanjay Gopalakrishnan holds a Master Degree in Science and is an Alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad. He was also a marketing & business consultant to Automotive Retail groups and startup companies.

    BYD India recently launched its Premium MPV e6 pure electric passenger vehicle in India‘s B2B segment. The recently launched All-New e6 Premium MPV has received an explosive response from customers. BYD India had appointed 6 dealers across 8 Indian cities and is further solidifying its position in the Indian market with the start of sales to the customers.
